2025 17 EVO with a 70 Yamaha — delivery walkaround

Kevin walks us through this sharp 2025 17 EVO that just left the shop—powered by a Yamaha 70 and rigged to fish.

This skiff is set up with a Power-Pole Move trolling motor, Garmin MFD on a Ballz Out Mounts bracket, and a casting stool—perfect for staying light, balanced, and deadly on the flats.

Built for precision in the skinniest water, and ready for long days chasing fish.

Thank you to the new owner for trusting us to build your dream skiff.

Build notes

Headed to the northeast with a full blackout package, this 17 EVO pairs a darker hull dip with a Yamaha 70 — an uncommon combination Kevin notes East Cape doesn't do often. It carries an Emperor casting stool, a Power-Pole Move offset for cleaner sightlines while poling, a Garmin MFD, blacked-out push-pole holders and wheel, and an East Cape decal on the bulkhead. Static draft runs 7.75 to 8.5 inches and speeds land in the mid-40s despite the boat's 14-degree deadrise.

Taken from the walkaround — what Kevin points out on the boat.

Every East Cape is built to order in Longwood, Florida — one at a time, around how its owner fishes. This is one of them.
