Ice Blue 2027 25 Open with Suzuki 300

Adam walks a 25 Open with pitch tanks on the bow and more livewell space than any Open we've built to date.

Ice Blue on everything but the hull, and it's the second Ice Blue East Cape headed to the same garage. The owner already runs a 17 EVO with an Ice Blue deck, and this 25 Open matches it — Ice Blue deck, console, cockpit, lean post, and full hardtop over a Whisper Grey hull, with Whisper Grey powder coat to tie it together.

A Suzuki 300 in black with a stainless four-blade on a Sea Star 12-inch jackplate with SeaStar tilt steering and C-Zone digital switching on a horizontal panel in the console face. Up front, a brushless Minn Kota Terrova on a removable port mount. It's the manual-deploy version rather than the auto-deploy, chosen to keep it lighter since the motor will come on and off the boat often, with full power on the lower unit. Twin Minn Kota Raptors off the jackplate in the active setting, so they hold in a range of sea conditions, and a Humminbird chart plotter at the helm that links to the Terrova and takes advantage of the bottom machine the Birds do well.

The pitch tanks are the piece Adam calls the most unique thing on the boat. Two wells forward with Gemlux drains under clear acrylic lids, so a couple of baits stay ready on the bow for schooling fish or pelagics spotted off structure. It's a pitch-bait, South Florida-style setup, and the rod holder count matches it: the full hardtop carries five rod holders and two kite rod holders on top with four more underneath, no aft legs. Three more wells are plumbed behind that, port and starboard aft at about 30 gallons each and a 60-gallon well under the West Coast lean post. Going with a traditional seat instead of a rocket-launcher style keeps the lean post tall and gets max volume out of the center well, which is why this one likely has the most livewell space of any Open East Cape has built.
